I am Happy to report that Chip (Chocolate Chip) is doing wonderful in his new home and is loved by his new family! Tricia thanks for the picture.

Things you should know about our family and the puppy that you are going to Purchase.

Our Mammas and babies are kept under night servalence for the first three nights with either myself or my daughter sleeping on the couch beside them. If all is well then we each take one shift for the next week to check on them just to make sure they are warm and all is well, mamma might need a potty break or a drink and this way she gets it.

They are watched and handled from birth. We Keep the mamma and puppies confined for the first three weeks in a wire pen that is perfect for newborn babies to be safe and warm. Mamma of coarse gets to spend time out of the nest and can come and go as she pleases. For the first two weeks she mostly wants to potty get a drink, eat, get some love and go right back to her little family.

After they start to get up on there legs to move around we move them to a swimming pool where Mamma can come and go and they can see her and us, as well as getting to know everyone and start socializing. Having puppies in a pool is allot of fun for us as we can snag them as we go by and take them with us to play with...lol

They are starting to get curious at about 4 weeks old and nosing around and chewing on toys getting in and out of their beds, lots of tumbling with siblings starts at this age. Puppies are never allowed on the bare floor or carpet till they have their first shots. Humans can bring parvo germs and other life threatening germs in on their feet, so puppies have their own hand made quilts that they can play on.

AT 5 weeks it is time for puppies to start eating soft puppy food and mamma comes and goes less and less she will ween them within a few days. They will no longer have the protection of her immune system and now need to be vaccinated so that they can start building up thier own immunity to nasty virusses.
Puppies get vaccinated at 5 weeks for the first time with a puppy vaccination we dont give lepto as a first time vaccination we do give it the second time around.

At 6 weeks puppies are totally independant from nursing and eating dry puppy food. However momma still gets in the pool for a few minutes at a time she hasnt totally given up bathing them and checking on them but doesnt allow nursing .

At 7 weeks a gate is put around the pool as there is usually a smart little puppy that has figured out how to escape...lol

All of our puppies are Healthy, Happy, Loved, and well Socialized as well as started on potty training and are eating on their own when they go to their new homes .

We feed Kirkland Sigature Super Premuim Chicken and Rice Puppy Food and only Milk Bone Products for snacking ( We are not affiliated nor do we get any kick backs from either of these companies) We feel that diet is one of the most important factors of a growing puppy These are two quality products that everyone can afford we chose to feed this because we felt feeding a premium food that was more per pound than the meat you feed your human family would be a reason for the puppies to be switched to a department store brand like Purina or Iams these are full of Corn and by products. Kirkland doesnt have any Corn and Certanly no By products
It is a good Premium Food manufatured by Diamond.

When you Reserve your new puppy I will start to send you all kinds of information on Shih Tzu puppies and the breed as well as information on the dog food we feed a list of ingredients and a list of other dog foods that also rate in the hundreds on the dog food scale. also I will send you updated pictures of your baby every week for your scrapbook and keep you posted on his or her progress!

He has no fear … I was at the park this evening with Kamu and was throwing a stick twice the length of his body, he has such spirit he wasn’t challenged by the size at all, he just kept fetching and bringing it back. Along with being so grateful for him, as I watched him I thought of Pam and how pleased she’d be to see what a sweet and also rough and ready little guy he is…he is a serious “player” …..we socialize with 5 or 6 other dogs almost every evening, and he gets them all going, he is the smallest and he runs jumps and rolls with the big dogs and hold his own…mostly out runs them. I am proud to say he is the star …everyone loves Kamu! I still think of Pam in relation to Kamu for the good start she gave him and the professional follow through, here it is about 4mos later and I have the assurance and comfort of knowing she is still available if I need advice or have question. It has been an overall positive experience working with Pam Lundgren. I never doubted her knowledge and character. Time has proven my first impression to be true, and so continues my gratitude.
